Frequently asked questions
air-source heat pumps

The price of an air-to-water heat pump depends on the pump itself and the size of the property (usually €1,500–3,000). As an investment, it pays for itself in a few years, since you’ll save hundreds of euros a year on heating costs.

The duration of the installation depends on whether the old system needs to be removed to make way for the new one or if it has already been removed beforehand. The outdoor unit is installed first, followed by the indoor unit inside the building. It usually takes 1 day.

When compared directly to electric heating, an air-source heat pump can typically reduce a home’s heating costs by about 30–50 percent—and sometimes even more.

Yes. Modern air-source heat pumps designed for Nordic conditions also operate in severe cold, even at temperatures as low as approximately –25…–35 °C, depending on the model.

However, in extreme cold, efficiency and heating output decrease, so a separate, dedicated home heating system is usually needed in addition.

An air-to-water heat pump is connected to a property’s water circuit, so it acts as a whole-house heating system, rather than blowing air to one specific place in the property like an air-to-water heat pump. An air-to-water heat pump can also be used to heat domestic hot water.
